If you grew up with home-made “maple” syrup on your pancakes you probably loathe the store-bought stuff, because it’s made with corn syrup instead of sugar. Home-made uses artificial flavoring, but so does the store stuff — if you grew up with real maple syrup you probably lived in a little house in the big woods or in a little trust fund in the big, big house and sound even snobbier than I do here.
1 Cup White Sugar |
1 Cup Brown Sugar |
1 Cup Water |
1 tsp. Mapleine Flavoring |
Mix everything in a sauce pan over high burner. Stir until it boils. Do not leave unattended, as with small children. It will boil over, as with teen children. It will go everywhere, like the new puppy.
